has met Ms Nakagawa Aiko by his 20th age.
It was my dream to beacom a professinoal Yoga eacher. I have made a Yoga Club in my university and had more than 100 students. I have studied Hindi language as my mayor. I have been to India and America in holiday season. My parents are both Yoga teacher and I would like to succeed my father’s job as the first son of him. Day by day my students has increased and I was searching somewhere else that I can learn Yoga. This is how I met my Guruji Nakagawa Aiko

１．My Guruji Nakagawa Aiko has passed away on 16th Jan
People grow up people. My Guruji Nakagawa Aiko who told me this has passed away 16th Jan. Maha Samadhi.
She often told me how her Guruji Dr. Sahoda Tsuruji was. More than I remember her, she has grown up by seeing her Guru Ji Dr Sahoda Tsuruji and know what Guruji was. Yoga means the “joint” in Sanskrit language. The two Guruji was exact Yoga by their life and relationship. Due to COVID 19 to concern, it is difficult to seeing directory. Let me pray for her silently in my mind with lots of memory and respect.

✓Working career in the Governmental Bank in Tokyo (Marunouchi Girl)
She has worked in the Governmental Bank in Tokyo before marriage which was the second top bank in the financial hierarchy in Japan. She was so called ” Marunouchi Girl”
Now that you can find many people with good career but it is very rare case for me who has grown up in this industry. It is only recent that the Yoga teacher became officially a profession in Japan. Before to that, Yoga was very strange jog like a Crypto Currency nowadays. More to say, due to Om Shinrikyo incident, it was really strange job in Japan. In such a situation, Marunouchi Girl was respected I guess by her attitude and participation.
She has wonderful family also. Marriage and children. You can find many outstanding single Yoga teacher easily but it was rare to find someone like her who is so social and discipline.
✓First generation of Dr. Sahoda’s students who got degree
After seeing and knowing Dr. Sahoda, the life has changed.
Before to start yoga, she has suffered from the second effect of pregnancy and she was a disable person. But after starting yoga, she has gradually become better and better. She often go to the Yoga class by using 6 trains to change by more than 2 hours in Kyoto “Yoga Zen Doin.
Dr. Sahoda was the first generation who has brought Yoga culture to Japan. His profession was Indo philosophy and specialized in “Yoga Sutra”. He was also weak and started Yoga by medical reason like her. His outstanding point was Sanscrit language. He has translated “Yoga Sutra” directory from Sanscrit language to Japanese and also he was very good at taking yoga posture. He used have more than 10 thousand students in Japan by his talent and made this Yoga culture in Japan. She was the first generation of his certified yoga teacher and it was her pride.
✓Yoga class was broadcasted by NHK
Yoga became famous by the Yoga class in NHK in TV and Dr. Sahoda became very busy I guess those days. She supported him more than others by these three reasons; First generation of degree, driving license with car, social and industrious character.
３．How I met her and What is my memory of my Guru
Let me share how I met her and what is my memory with my guruji. Now that she has gone, I want to know any kinds of her memory and share.
✓How I met Nakagawa Aiko
It all started with my passion.
I was looking forward to become a professional Yoga teacher and looking for the nearest place to be so. I thought that succeeding is the fastest way. It was not so bad for elder person to see my young and straight mind so she told me many things. She gave me scholarship which was a secret between us. It was also meaningful to her that I was the student in the same university as Dr. Sahoda. It was good and comfortable place for me.
✓Inviting Swami Rapaswarupananda Ji from India
It was very clear for me who have grown up in this field that what makes difference between professional and hobby to do Yoga. It is just India how close you can reach. So I studied Hindi language in university and went to India in holiday season. Nakagawa guru has also agreed this importance of India so we have invited Swami Ramaswarupananda Ji from Himalay in India. More than 70 people came and the room was full. We also could introduced “Yoganidra” which was not known yet in Japan. Let me write something this article next.
✓Arranging Yoga trip to India
It was a big dream for Yoga teacher to arrange the trip to India with their students especially with long career. She often told me that her Guru Dr. Sahoda has studied Yoga in Rishikesh in a month. It is very difficult for Japanese working people to take one month of free trip. So we have arranged a 10 days trip to India. Unfortunately I could not join but her group has reached to Holly Uttrakashi and have seen Swami Premananda Ji who is the last living disciple of Swami Shivananda Ji. She has received the orange color cloth from him. She was so happy that she has put this picture on the wall even after her retirement. It was a good memory for me. ４．Why I have stopped Yoga and changed the way to office workier
Sometimes one good reason is everything than other one hundred. I have many reasons to choose current career but her support was worm and best motivation.
✓My guru recommend me for office work and introduced me many presidents
When I stared searching for a job, my friends are all surprised.
I had many reason to do so but the real reason was her support and guidance. She worried about my career and introduced me many business person.
I considered my career very much. The “strange job” and ” dream job” was fighting in my mind. Office workers go to building in city with good suite on the other hand my father lives in hobby world. It was two opposite world and difficult to explain even for me. Guru Nakagawa was the best person to guide. She was the only person who had both career in this filed and told me clearly to choose different way and to become an office worker. She means I should see bigger world as a man studying in a good university. She also had some power to convince me from her war experience.
✓Introduced me Horisawa Somon the second top buddhist monk in Japan.
She also guided me the Yoga way deeper.
It was a surprise for me to know the relationship between elder people. She has introduced me the second top buddhist monk in Japan and visited his temple with her friends. The temple “Hieizan” is known as the top of Japanese buddhist world but also it is the oldest buddhist school. It was completely a different world for me by their speciality and their passion to their profession. My university and Hindi language is more like general use compare to them and not at all special to choose Yoga in this age. Monk Horisawa Somon was the president of this school and the same disciple of Dr. Sahoda to her. I have decided to be a office worker to see this difference.
✓Visiting her home of the aged to show my girl friend before marriage
Thanks to her support I could get a good job and promoted early to go to Indian branch from the first year. I came back to Japan every year but at most 5 days a year. In this very short and important occasion, I visited her to show my girl friend before marriage.
Elder people likes love story like anything. She was very happy to know. I was nervous and strange feeling to choose this place and occasion with her. She was a student and far from death and age. I chose this place in oder to show my yoga teacher and see her condition. Also I would like her to know the profession I was looking for.
Guru Nakagawa was not only the yoga teacher but also a teacher for life. Age tell us more than anything about the life. She told me the importance of someone to share the life and time. We can find many kinds of people and many kinds of death and happiness in home for the aged.
I have visited after marriage once and one more time to show my daughter. I was looking for the second time to show my grown up daughter but by the time I wish, she has gone to heaven.
５．What I feel to know my Guruji death
When she was alive, she often told me how she had arranged the funnel ceremony of Dr. Sahoda her Guru Ji.They have done 4 times, Indus rever, Mother Ganga, Kanyakumari and in Srilanka. It is the best ceremony for the person who has dedicated his life for Sanscrit language and Yoga. Nakagawa guru has carried out the sacred ash to these places in the picture above. I have shared this story with my professor in Osaka University then the Sanscrit Language teacher was surprised and give us the special lecture with this document. It was a big surprise even for the professor who has studied in Harvard University.
I have shared my dream to do something same for her funnel ceremony in those days. It is difficult for us all due to COVID19 to go to India but time will guide me there I hope. I think her born has already burned and the ash has joined to the buddha statue in “Isshinji Temple”. Let me pray for her in the temple.
